The School Council

Children have a voice and a responsibility in how our School operates and develops.  Each class elects a boy and a girl as Class Representatives and each Year Group elects several children to represent them on the School Council.  The Council meet on a regular basis to discuss issues relevant to daily life at school and ideas for further improvements.

Initiatives

The School Council have had a major impact in recent years with such initiatives as the introduction of water bottles in class; an E-Free Week; removal of the drinks machine; introduction of a healthy eating tuck shop; improved school meals; review of the Code of Behaviour and Anti-Bullying Policy; transport to school; and a focus on waste and recycling with a Green Fortnight.

The Council

The School Council is made up of four people from each Year Group every year.  In addition, in order to maintain a level of stability there is an option for a few selected pupils to be seconded on for an additional year(s).
